Charlotte Express Host Rival Raleigh Flyers in Last Meeting this Season

Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Express (3-7) will clash with the Raleigh Flyers (6-3) one last time this season. The Express are coming off a long and exhausting Texas road trip while the Flyers previous game was postponed due to lightning. Game time is this Saturday, June 11, 7 PM in the Irwin Belk Complex at Johnson C. Smith University.

The box office opens at 6 PM to welcome friends and fans to the Irwin Belk Complex. The stadium features multiple areas to keep fans of all ages happy and entertained. Creating a family friendly atmosphere at every home game, the Charlotte Express will feature a Kid’s Zone with games and activities throughout the game. Prior to each game the Express will host a free clinic featuring Express players teaching the game of Ultimate to fans of all ages.

For the adult fans of legal drinking age, the Express and NoDa Brewing Company have partnered to provide the Whistle Stop Garden, a new experience showcasing NoDa’s award winning beer. Visitors to the beer garden will have a field level view of the game with the Charlotte skyline providing the backdrop.

The Express have one final chance this season for their first franchise win against the Flyers. This will be the third meeting of the season. The Express started the season against the Flyers in Raleigh, losing 18-23. Charlotte played Raleigh at home May 21 in a rainy, weather delayed loss, 14-22. After this game there will be only one more opportunity to see the Express in 2016 on June 25 against the Nashville Nightwatch.

The Express will look to slow down the Flyers offense with defensive leaders Jacob Fairfax and Mason Gardner, both with 12 defensive stops. Charlotte’s passing attack is led by Jesse Lieberman with 21 assists. Shane Sisco leads in scoring with 25 goals and also in plus/minus at 29.

The Raleigh Flyers come to Charlotte rested after a postponed game last week. Raleigh is led by Justin Allen on offense, who is tops in most statistical categories including goals, assists and plus/minus. Jonathan Nethercutt and Terrence Mitchell are two additional offensive standouts. On defense, Noah Saul and Hunter Taylor lead the team in defensive stops.
