Charlotte Express Host Nashville Nightwatch for Final Home Game of 2016


Charlotte, N.C. – The Charlotte Express (3-9) will battle the Nashville Nightwatch (1-9) back to back for the final two games of the season. The Express are returning from Jacksonville after a brutal overtime loss while the Nightwatch are rested after a bye week. Game starts at 7 PM this Saturday, June 25 in the Irwin Belk Complex at Johnson C. Smith University and is the final home game of the season.

The box office opens at 6 PM to welcome friends and fans to the Irwin Belk Complex. The stadium features multiple areas to keep fans of all ages happy and entertained. Creating a family friendly atmosphere at every home game, the Charlotte Express will feature a Kid’s Zone with games and activities throughout the game. Prior to each game the Express will host a free clinic featuring Express players teaching the game of Ultimate to fans of all ages.

For the adult fans of legal drinking age, the Express and NoDa Brewing Company have partnered to provide the Whistle Stop Garden, a new experience showcasing NoDa’s award winning beer. Visitors to the beer garden will have a field level view of the game with the Charlotte skyline providing the backdrop.

The Express begin a home and away against the Nightwatch to finish the 2016 season. This will be the second meeting of the season, Charlotte won in Nashville 26-24 on May 7. A win would give Charlotte four and double last season’s total. The Express travel to Nashville next week to play their final game of 2016 on July 2 at 7 PM.

The Express will look to slow down the Nightwatch offense with defensive leader Mason Gardner, securing the team lead with 17 defensive stops. Charlotte’s passing attack is led by Jesse Lieberman with 33 assists. Shane Sisco leads in scoring with 34 goals and Jeff Nordgren leads in plus/minus at 38.

The Nashville Nightwatch are led by the impressive trio of Player Pierce, Jake Wright and Tom Radcliffe. On defense, Pierce leads the team in defensive stops with 12. Offensively, Radcliffe leads throwing 34 assists with Wright being the leading beneficiary catching 39 goals.
